Tournament Structure for LoL LEC
The League of Legends European Championship comes with 10 competing teams. Each season of the LoL LEC is divided into two Splits – Spring Split, and Summer Split. Both Splits consist of a round-robin tournament each, which is played over the course of nine weeks, followed by a play-off tournament.
Each team plays the other team twice (Best-of-five Map matchup), in due course of the round-robin tournament – The top six teams from the round-robin tournament, qualify for the play-off tournament. Apart from an obvious prize pool, the Winner of the Summer Split, the team with the most Championship Points, and the Winner of the Gauntlet Tournament, qualify for the League of Legends World Championship.
Apart from some touring events, all LEC matchups, are played live at tournament owner Riot Games’ studio, which is located in Adlershof, Berlin, Germany. LEC matches are ꦏlive streamed on several betting sites, Twitch, and YouTube, among other broadcasting channels.

The League of Legends European Championship is organized by Riot Games, the publisher and developer of the video game. The LoL LEC was initially called the European League of Legends Championship Series (EU LCS), before being rebranded to the League of Legends European Championship, in 2019.
The LoL LEC was first contested in 2013. The 2013 and 2014 editions of the LoL LEC saw 8 teams participate in the tournament. The format was revised to allow 10 competing teams,♎ from 2015 onwards. All LEC matches are played live at Riot Games’ studio, which is located in Adlershof, Berlin, Germany
